MISSION STATEMENT
STATE COLLEGE OF FLORIDA FOUNDATION, INC.
The Foundation for State College of Florida, Inc. as a private not-for-profit
corporation seeks to solicit friends and funds from the private sector
to provide flexible fiscal resources for The State College of Florida.
As a direct support organization for SCF, the Foundation is guided by
a diversified Board of Directors comprised of outstanding community leaders.
The State College of Florida is a vital thread in the community fabric.
It has an accepted role; it produces a recognizable product, and it has
a signature presence in the communities which it serves. The citizens
of Manatee and Sarasota counties deserve more than a basic college education.
That is why the mission of the Foundation is so important. Tax dollars
and tuition alone are simply not enough to sustain the quality of academic
programs and community services provided by the College. Excellence is
built and sustained by the community.
The mission of the Foundation is to secure and manage private resources
to enhance the educational opportunities for State College of Florida
students and faculty.
The Foundation provides a vehicle through which individuals, businesses,
private foundations and other organizations may support The State College
of Florida.
