COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE FUNDS

Commitment to Excellence Funds fortify the historic mission of The State College of Florida and sustain the College’s ability to provide an accessible, dynamic learning environment that facilitates the achievement of educational, professional and personal goals of our students and members of our communities. Private support is essential to the establishment and vigorous growth of these funds. Opportunities exist to create named endowed funds for particular departments or programs within any of these funds. Endowed funds may be named in honor or memory of a loved one.

Commitment to Excellence Program Fund
Every college, academic department and program has specific needs that are critical to its future success. A dynamic academic environment is one that is ever changing, fostering exciting new ideas and innovative ventures. This fund provides the College with the flexibility and funding to support such academically invigorating programs including, but not limited to, visiting artists, artists in residence, lecture series, exhibits, etc. Private gifts may be designated to individual departments or the general fund. Named funds are permitted for endowment gifts. Gift level: $50,000 minimum

Commitment to Excellence Equipment Fund
Investment in critically needed instructional classrooms, laboratories and studios ensures that the College can and will embrace its future with confidence. New resources must meet evolving needs, including up-to-date computers, software, science labs, and instruments. Whether it be music, science, film, theater, business, health professions, graphic design or languages, to be successful in the workforce or at the university, students must be able to successfully compete with students from other colleges and universities. To do this they must learn using the most up-to-date equipment and technology available. Gift level: $50,000 minimum

Commitment to Excellence Faculty Support Fund
The quality of a college is directly related to the quality of its faculty. Faculty not only teach our students, they inspire them to be all they are capable of being. Private support designated towards faculty support helps the College ensure excellence through either endowed chairs and professorships, or programs for faculty development. Endowed faculty positions assist the College to expand programs and enrollment while ensuring smaller classes and more personal attention for students. Faculty Development Programs offer faculty opportunities for professional growth and development in their field. Funds made available may include guest lectures and facilitators. Gift level: Faculty Development Funds - $50,000 minimum; Endowed Chair - $1.5 million minimum

Commitment to Excellence Library Support Fund
The library continues to be one of the top sources of information for students, faculty and the community. The library of the future is a center for information limited only by imagination. This fund will assist the library in acquiring new resources to support teaching, learning and enhance our overall collections which include books, periodicals and journals. Gift level: $50,000 minimum

Commitment to Excellence Student Support
Ensuring access to higher education is one of the primary prongs of a community college’s mission. Gifts for student scholarships enable students to pursue a college degree who might otherwise not have done so had financial aid not been available. Gift level: $25,000 minimum

Commitment to Excellence Campus Beautification Fund
Campus beautification funds provide support for landscaping, benches or other campus needs and priorities. Gifts designated to campus beautification provide a very meaningful and discernible way for individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations to provide lasting and visible support for the entire community to enjoy.
